After starting out as a licensed cosmetologist in New York City at the age of 19, Elaine eventually left to travel and pursue other interests. She ultimately settled in San Francisco, living on a houseboat while working in the hospitality industry with major hotels. She also worked as a professional fashion model, modeling in fashion shows for major designers and doing print work for local department stores. Elaine then traveled to Milan, Italy, modeling and acting in television commercials.
She returned to San Francisco, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communications from San Francisco State University, minoring in Italian and French. She has studied modern dance, ballet, Middle Eastern dance, Afro-Haitian and jazz dance and has done stage makeup for college and local theater performances.
Elaine eventually returned to New York, where she entered the corporate world, working for nearly 20 years in publishing, advertising and marketing. She graduated from the Christine Valmy International School of Esthetics and the Berkowits LASER School. She was employed as an esthetician and LASER technician and learned the art of permanent makeup by performing touchups on her busy employer's regular clients.
After moving to the Tampa Bay area, Elaine became certified in the Softap ® hand method of implanting permanent cosmetic pigment, which she feels offers the most natural look available in permanent makeup.
Elaine is currently licensed in both Florida and New York states and is dedicated to restoring natural-looking beauty and definition to eyebrows, eyes and lips through the gentle Softap ® method.
Through her training and experience, Elaine has become expert in improving all skin types, and has worked with clients suffering from acne, rosacea, aging and sun damaged skin.
